Engineer Ramadan Abdel-Kader Eldib, P.E., passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, the 3rd day of the month of Ramadan on a Friday, at the age of 95. Born on January 23, 1931, in Alexandria, Egypt, he lived a life defined by intellectual curiosity, devotion to family, and a boisterous sense of humor.
He graduated from Alexandria University, Faculty of Engineering, with a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering. In 1970, he emigrated to the United States in pursuit of opportunity and became a U.S. citizen in 1976.
Ramadan built a respected career as an electrical engineer, including his work at General Motors. Later, he became the owner of a laundry and dry-cleaning business in Danville, Illinois, where he created many employment opportunities in his community and was well respected by everyone.
Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 59 years, Mona; his two sons, Moataz and Tamer; his daughter-in-law, Heba; and his two grandchildren, Adam and Rany.
His legacy lives on through the values he instilled — faith, curiosity, discipline, generosity, and sense of humor.
