Shirley Ann Lewis went to be with the Lord April 6, 2024, at 6:49pm. She was born February 20, 1958, to Margaret Hoskins and James Hoskins in Como, Mississippi. Shirley relocated to Danville Illinois in 1960 with her family. In 1968 she confessed her hope in Christ at the age of 8 and was baptized at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
Shirley was united in marriage to Carl Lewis on June 4, 1994, after their marriage she became a member of Church of Israel. Shirley attended Danville Schools. She worked at the V.A. Hospital for 16 years. In 1995 Shirley and her family relocated to Fort Wayne, IN. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. She loved her family, people and giving all her nieces and nephews a gift for their birthdays. Shirley had unconditional love for her loving husband, daughter, and mother. Shirley had a wonderful singing voice and sang with the Wings of Glory Choir.
Shirley leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Carl Lewis, daughter, Latoyia Willis, grandchildren, Ladasia Moore, LaMyzha Willis and LaKyah Willis, great grandchildren, Savio and Samir Simpson all of Fort Wayne IN. Her mother, Margaret Hoskins, Siblings, Charles (Linda) Hoskins, Rosie Chenault, and Pastor Ricky Hoskins all of Danville, Il. Mother-in-law, Della Easley, Sister-in-Law, Benita Lewis of Champaign, Il. and Brother-in-law, John Easley of Seattle Wash. Best Friends, Margaret Boyd, Billie Roberts, Beverly Smiley, Joanne Morris and Janette Sanford and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her grandparents: Simon and Florene Hunter, Sister: Gloria Hoskins, Niece: Ericka Hoskins and Great Nephew: Jeremiah Martez Hoskins.
A Homegoing Celebration will commence at 12noon, Monday April 15, 2024. Eulogist Pastor Ricky Hoskins Sr. Visitation will begin at 11:00am until the time of the service. Interment will follow after at Spring Hill Cemetery.
