Ruby Joe Taylor (White) was born on February 18, 1948, in Marked Tree, AR to the late Bertha Ree Burnett and Lorenzo White. Her stepfather was Joseph Burnett.
She professed her hope in Christ at an early age. She was affectionately called “Miss Ruby”. Miss Ruby had a special love for her family and friends and she would help anyone that she could. No matter what she was faced with she was going to persevere. She was always there for family, friends and the community.
Miss Ruby departed this life, Friday, April 12, 2024 at 5:55 a.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Taylor; her brothers, Joseph Burnett, Columbus Burnett, Napoleon Burnett; daughter-of-love, Cynthia Pelmore; and, several aunts and uncles.
She leaves to cherish a lifetime of memories: three daughters, Comfort White, Waltina Pearson (Audwin) and Shermecker Young; three sons, Paris White, WalymWhite (Tiyonna) and Justin Robertson; three daughters-of-love, Lynda Taylor-Brown, Sheila King (Phil) and Tasha Hughes; two sisters, Martha Ann Davis and Mildred Burnett; two brothers, Robert Burnett and Sanford Burnett; aunt, Mildred Wilson; uncles, Harold Rufus, George Box and Booker Burnett; 24 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Salem Baptist Church, 500 E. Park St., Champaign. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 Noon Friday at the church.
