Patricia Hardimon Boyd Obituary

Patricia Ann Hardimon-Boyd, 72, passed peacefully surrounded by family on April 19, 2024.  She was born on August 27,1951 in Sikeston, MO to Rosie and Clarence Hardimon.

 

Patricia was raised in Danville, IL. She attended Danville Schools and received certificates from Danville Area Community College.  She worked for the East Central Illinois Community Action Program (CAP) for 36 years in multiple roles. Patricia was a member and appointed a Mother at her church, Faith Deliverance Worship Center. She also enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending with her family. 

 

In 1969, Patricia married Dorsey Boyd.  From that union were born 9 children.

 

She leaves to cherish her memory:  3 sons, Cornell (Edith) Boyd, Corey Boyd and Otis Boyd; 4 daughters, Monique (Russell) Henson, Shavella (Quentin) Smith, Ashantia (James) Campbell and Breon Boyd; brothers, Clarence Hardimon, Ricky (Hannagale) Hardimon, Don Hardimon, Eric Hardimon and Harrison (Tonya) Hardimon; sisters, Myra Hardimon, Lois Knox, Billie Roberts, Schfronia McBath, Lashawnia McBath and Kanesha McBath; aunts, Johnnie Hardimon and JoAnn McCauley; God Mother, Shirley Gibson; and, close friends, Janice Matthews, Juanita Gutierrez, Overseer Vera McClain, Margaret Boyd and Clara Beasley. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Dorsey Boyd and Deron Boyd; grandchildren, Corey Boyd, Jr., Elizabeth Luster-Boyd and Channon Elizabeth Luster; maternal grandparents, Mattie Jackson and Alfonzo Jones; and, siblings, Peggy Hardimon and Christopher Hardimon.

 

A homegoing celebration of life will commence at 12:00 Noon Saturday April 27, 2024 at New Life Church of Faith 1419 N. Bowman Ave. A visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Atherton Cemetery.

 

A public viewing will be held from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm Friday April 26, 2024 at Leek & Sons Funeral 304 E. Williams St.
