Mary Allen Fultz

Mary Allen Fultz, 85 of Danville, transitioned to eternal rest on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at North Logan HealthCare Facility in Danville.

Mary was born June 8, 1927 in Danville to the late Benjamin Hosea and Emma Lou Murray Beasley. At the age of 15, Mary was baptized at Greater Shiloh Baptist Church by Rev. M.C. Pittman and remained in fellowship throughout her life.

She was a high school graduate and attained some college education. Mary was a dietary supervisor at the VA Illiana Health Care System and retired after many years of faithful service. She enjoyed studying the scriptures, public speaking, cooking, gardening, traveling, collecting teapots and lawn care. Mary also collected cook books; she had over 350 cookbooks in her personal library collection.

She was active in the community and in her local church, faithfully serving Greater Shiloh’s culinary committee, Lily of the Valley Missionary Society, Region #4 Women’s Auxiliary Mission Society, Sixtte Club, Ritzy Matrons, the Doubleday Book Club, and a V.A. Credit Union Board Member. Mary leaves to cherish her loving memory, her siblings, 4 sisters: Helen Anderson, Juanita Orington, Saundra Beasley and Joy (Andrew) Strafford all of Danville; 4 brothers: Benjamin Beasley of Tampa, FL, Donald (Claudetta) Beasley of Champaign, Timothy (Twila) Beasley of New Orleans, LA, Lawrence (Dorothy) Beasley of Danville, 4 generations of nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life will commence at 12’noon Friday, August 3, 2012 at Greater Shiloh Baptist Church 609 North Bowman Ave., Danville. Visitation will begin at 11am until the time of the service. A public viewing will commence from 1-5pm Thursday August 2, 2012 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 304 East Williams Street, Danville; the family is not scheduled to be present. Officiating: Pastor U. Pete Williams. Interment: Spring Hill Cemetery.
